Virtual: KC Data Center Fight Public Comment Training
Tell the City Plan Commission: KC is ours! No Downtown Data Center!
Kansas City’s City Plan Commision is reviewing plans from Revitalization Unlimited, a Miami-based private equity firm, to demolish a 126-year old building in downtown KC to ultimately build a 20-story data center.
On Wednesday, 8/5/26 at 9AM, the City Plan Commission is required to hear what Kansas Citians have to say about this. Let’s make it clear to them that we don’t want a downtown data center in our downtown!
We’re hosting a virtual training session for members of the public (you!) to learn more about the public comment process, including how to write and deliver strong public comment opposing the downtown data center.
WHAT
Testimony preparation and practice for the 8/5/26 City Plan Commission Meeting. You will gain an understanding of the data center context in KC, what the strongest talking points are, and how to give effective public testimony. Leave confident in how to craft and deliver a powerful message at the CPC hearing.

WHY
Downtown Kansas City is not a playground for Big Tech and out-of-town developers. Downtown Kansas City belongs to Kansas Citians.
If approved, this 20-story data center will not serve Kansas Citians. Of the many harms, building and operating this data center would be extremely resource-intensive. It will make the city even more hot and humid, emit constant noise, and will not create long-term employment for Kansas Citians.
